about this book

Did you know that rainforests cover only 6 percent of the Earth’s surface, yet they support more than half of the world’s plant and animal species? In this wet and often unstable environment, how do animals like the jaguar, giant centipede, common vampire bat, and the harpy eagle survive? With some tricks that sound like they’d be at home in the latest sci-fi thriller, such as toxic skin, poison-injecting fangs, sonic muscles, and hidden wings! Packed with up-close photos and fascinating profiles of extreme jungle creatures, plus wild and weird data on their amazing superpowers, Extreme Rainforest transports you to this exotic and intense world. Plus, its computer-game style graphics, bite-size facts, and special diecuts and gatefolds make it an ideal pick for young readers.
